First Hour Setup
ATM10 throws hundreds of mods at you. Ignore most quest books initially — focus on vanilla progression with mod shortcuts where obvious.
Install the pack via CurseForge or Modrinth. Allocate 6–8GB RAM minimum. Join a server only after you can survive a solo night in single-player.
Tools and Ore Processing
Vanilla iron tools still matter early. Supplement with Tinkers' Construct if enabled in your version — check JEI (Just Enough Items) for recipes.
Use JEI for everything
Press R on any item to see recipes, U to see uses. JEI is your primary navigation — do not guess crafting paths.
Build a basic smeltery or furnace array
Multiple furnaces or a early Create setup speeds ore doubling. Prioritize iron, copper, and redstone before fancy automation.
Set up passive food
Crop farms or Pam's HarvestCraft options prevent starvation while you grind tech. Food buffs from modded crops help early combat.
First Power Generation
Most tech mods need FE/RF power. Early options in ATM10 typically include Immersive Engineering water wheels, Mekanism heat generators, or Create rotation.
Pick one power mod
Do not build five half-finished generators. Commit to Create (rotation → FE) or Mekanism (heat/solar) based on what ore you found nearby.
Automate ore processing
Mekanism Enrichment Chambers or Create Crushing Wheels double ore output. This is the highest ROI early tech investment.
Buffer with energy storage
Basic energy cubes or Create flywheels prevent machine stalls when power dips. Always store excess.
Storage Before You Drown in Items
ATM10 generates item volume fast. Build Refined Storage or Applied Energistics 2 (AE2) as soon as you have stable power and doubled ore.
Craft a storage controller
RS is simpler for beginners; AE2 scales better late-game. Check JEI for which chips/crystals your version needs.
Connect all chests and machines
One network beats ten scattered chests. Use storage buses or import/export buses to link furnaces and farms.
Set up autocrafting
Pattern providers for ingots, gears, and common components save hours. Start with 10–20 patterns, expand as you play.
Nether and Dimension Prep
Before the Nether: fire resist potions, decent armor, and a wayhome (waystones mod if present). Nether ores and blaze rods unlock mid-game tech.
The Allthemodium mining dimension and other ATM10 custom dimensions come later — do not rush until you have flight or strong gear. Follow the in-game ATM10 quest line once basics are stable.
