Hypixel Skyblock Catacombs Walkthrough

Before Your First Run

Dungeons unlock at Combat level 15 on Hypixel Skyblock. You also need a party — solo runs are not available for Catacombs.

Budget gear for Floor 1–3: Shadow Assassin or Adaptive armor (or strong dungeon rares from the AH), a decent sword with Sharpness, and basic healing items. Aim for at least 200–300 effective health before pushing past Floor 3.

Floor 1 Walkthrough

Floor 1 teaches dungeon basics: mob clearing, puzzle rooms, and the boss fight pattern. Focus on learning, not speed.

   Open the Dungeon Finder

   Use /dungeon or the Skyblock menu → Dungeons → Dungeon Finder. Select Catacombs Entrance (F1) and queue as Berserk or Healer for your first runs.

   Clear rooms efficiently

   Follow the party leader. Kill starred mobs (yellow name) for bonus score. Do not run ahead — deaths cost the whole party time and reduce chest tier.

   Learn the boss pattern

   Bonzo throws explosives and spawns minions in phases. Stay mobile, focus adds during invuln windows, and let the tank pull aggro if your party has one.

   Open your first chest

   Post-boss chests scale with score. Run F1 until you earn enough cata XP for Floor 2 and pick up basic dungeon loot to sell or equip.

Floors 2–3: Scaling Up

Scarf and Professor introduce harder mechanics and higher gear checks. This is where most players stall without proper armor and class understanding.

   Upgrade to Adaptive or strong rares

   Adaptive armor (per-class bonuses) or budget dungeon sets from the Auction House. Prioritize health and defense over damage until you stop dying every run.

   Pick a main class

   Healer and Mage are forgiving for learning. Berserk is fine if you have survivable gear. Archer and Tank matter more on F4+.

3. 3

   Run with consistent parties

   Add good players after runs. Repeat F2–F3 with the same group to learn routes and puzzle solutions faster than pugging every time.

Secrets and Chest Tier

Higher dungeon scores unlock better chest rolls. Secrets (hidden interactions in rooms) are the main score driver on mid floors.

Watch YouTube route guides for F3–F5 secret paths. Even 2–3 secrets per run adds up. Spirit Leap and Superboom TNT become essential tools on later floors.

Floor 4–5 Milestones

Thorn and Livid require real gear and mechanic knowledge. Most players need Shadow Assassin or Necron-level armor before F5 becomes farmable.

   Hit Combat 22+ and upgrade weapons

   Livid needs burst damage in shadow phases. A strong dungeon sword (Livid Dagger, Hyperion if budget allows) makes the fight consistent.

2. 2

   Learn Livid phases

   Identify the real Livid by name color or damage test (party-dependent strat). Save abilities for final phase and avoid standing in daggers.

3. 3

   Farm F5 for Necron's Blade materials

   F5 drops Wither blood and other high-value materials. Once stable, farm for gear upgrades and cata XP toward Floor 6 unlock.

Pro Tips

Join Skyblock Discord communities for LFG channels with gear requirements listed. Never join F5 parties with F3 gear — you waste everyone's time.

Check patch notes after updates; dungeon scaling and loot tables change frequently. Pair dungeon runs with Slayer progression for combat stats and income.
