Combat Stats Explained

Minescape uses RuneScape-style combat: Attack (accuracy), Strength (melee damage), Defence (damage reduction), Ranged, Magic, and Prayer. Your combat level is derived from these stats.

Connect to play.gameslabs.net (or us.gameslabs.net for Americas) and accept the resource pack. Open the skills menu from your hotbar to track levels.

Levels 1–30 Training Route

Early combat levels go fast with the right mobs and gear.

  1. Start in the novice zone

Kill low-level mobs near the hub. Bring basic food — trout or equivalent heals from early fishing or shops.

  2. Upgrade gear every 10 levels

Minescape gates gear by level. Move from bronze to iron to steel as you unlock tiers. Do not fight high-level mobs in bronze.

  3. Train Attack and Strength together

Use the combat style selector to train Attack, Strength, or Defence. Most players alternate Attack and Strength for balanced DPS.

  4. Bank loot frequently

Sell mob drops at banks in towns. Early bones, hides, and coins fund your next gear tier.

Levels 30–60 Training Route

Mid-level training requires better food, gear, and location choice.

  1. Move to appropriate training areas

Check the wiki for mobs matching your combat level. Areas with low mob aggression and fast respawns train fastest.

  2. Use special attacks

Weapons have special attacks that consume energy. Dragon dagger-style specs burst damage — use for fast kills on tough mobs.

  3. Bring potions

Combat potions (attack, strength, defence boosts) speed training significantly. Brew or buy from the Grand Exchange equivalent.

  4. Complete combat quests

Quests reward XP lamps and unlock training areas with better mobs. Some quests gate access to the best mid-level spots.

Ranged and Magic Training

Ranged and Magic open alternative training paths and boss strategies.

  1. Ranged: safe spotting

Find locations where mobs cannot reach you — shoot from behind fences or elevated positions. Slower but zero food cost.

  2. Magic: spell progression

Start with strike spells on weak mobs. Upgrade spellbooks as you level. Magic is essential for certain bosses and teleports.

  3. Balance combat styles

Pure melee works for most content, but bosses often require ranged or magic phases. Train all three to 40+ before endgame.

Prayer Training

Prayer provides combat buffs — protection prayers reduce damage, offensive prayers boost DPS. Bury bones from combat training at altars in towns.

Higher prayer unlocks protection from specific attack styles. Boss fights often require active prayer switching — practice toggling prayers mid-combat.

Boss Preparation

Before attempting Minescape bosses:

  1. Check minimum requirements

Bosses list combat level, gear tier, and quest prerequisites. The wiki has recommended setups for each boss.

  2. Stock food and potions

Bring 10–20 high-tier food items and combat potions. Bosses out-damage low supplies quickly.

  3. Learn attack patterns

Watch boss guides or join group kills first. Most bosses have telegraphed special attacks — learn the tells before soloing.
