How Phases Work

OneBlock gives you a single magic block that regenerates after mining. Each block break advances an internal counter — after enough breaks, the phase changes to a new biome with different drops and mobs.

Phases include Plains, Underground, Winter, Ocean, Jungle, Nether, End, and custom phases. Create your island with /ob create or /is create.

Plains Through Underground

Early phases provide wood, dirt, stone, and basic ores.

1. 1

   Expand platform first

   Use dirt and cobblestone from the block to extend your island to at least 15×15 before grinding phases. Void deaths reset progress painfully.

2. 2

   Build a cobblestone generator backup

   Lava + water cobble gen ensures building material if the block enters a non-stone phase.

3. 3

   Craft iron tools ASAP

   Underground phase drops iron ore. Smelt and upgrade tools before pushing to mob-heavy phases.

4. 4

   Place torches everywhere

   Mob spawns from the block increase in later phases. Light your platform early to control spawn locations.

Mob Phase Containment

Winter, Ocean, and Jungle phases spawn hostile and passive mobs from the block.

   Build a mob containment box

   Fence or wall a section of your island where mobs spawn. Prevents creeper holes and blaze fires on your main platform.

2. 2

   Farm passive mobs

   Cows, pigs, and chickens from the block provide food and leather. Breed inside containment for steady supply.

3. 3

   Prepare before Nether phase

   Craft fire resistance potions, gold armor for piglins, and cobblestone for nether platforms. Nether mobs are aggressive.

Villager Trading Hall

Zombie villagers spawn in certain phases — the fastest path to endgame gear.

1. 1

   Capture zombie villagers

   Lure zombie villagers into a boat or enclosed space. Cure with golden apples and weakness potions.

2. 2

   Set up librarian villagers

   Librarians sell enchanted books. Break and replace their lectern to reroll trades until you get desired enchants.

3. 3

   Build a trading hall

   Line up cured villagers with workstations. Protect from zombie kills with iron golems or lighting.

Nether and End Phases

Late phases provide blaze rods, ender pearls, and shulker shells.

1. 1

   Blaze rod farming

   Contain blazes in a spawner box. Blaze rods fuel brewing and end portal access.

2. 2

   Ender pearl collection

   Farm endermen during End phase. Pearls plus blaze powder craft eyes of ender for stronghold access if enabled.

3. 3

   Shulker box priority

   Shulkers drop shells for shulker boxes — the best storage upgrade. Farm during End phase before it cycles.

Phase Speedrun Tips

Leaderboard players optimize mining speed and phase transitions.

1. 1

   Mine continuously

   Do not let the block sit unmined — phase counters advance per break. Efficiency V pickaxe + Haste beacon maximizes breaks per minute.

2. 2

   Skip optional builds during speedruns

   Minimal platform + containment box only. Build aesthetics after completing all phases.

3. 3

   Co-op phase pushing

   One player mines the block continuously while others build infrastructure and manage mob containment.
