Everything you need to start Hypixel Skyblock — island setup, early money, minions, skills, and your first dungeon run.

Getting Started on Skyblock

Connect to mc.hypixel.net and select Skyblock from the lobby. Talk to Jerry on your private island to receive starter tools and complete the tutorial quests — they give essential items and coins.

Your first priority is a basic cobblestone generator and island expansion. Save every coin early and avoid cosmetic purchases until you have steady income. Use /sbmenu or the Skyblock menu for quick access to profiles, collections, and fast travel.

Making Early Money

Mining, farming, and fishing are the three main early-game money methods. Selling cobblestone to the NPC is the simplest starting point.

Once you unlock the Bazaar, check prices before selling — player-driven prices are often much better than NPC rates. Wheat, potatoes, and carrots are reliable farming crops. Flip Bazaar items with small margins for fast starter capital.

Skills and Collections

Every action levels a skill — Mining, Farming, Combat, Foraging, Fishing, and more. Higher levels unlock recipes and passive bonuses.

Collections track gathered materials and unlock minions, tools, and armor recipes. Focus Mining and Farming collections first. Check the Skyblock wiki for optimal collection paths at your stage.

Minions and Passive Income

Minions work while you are offline. Unlock your first cobblestone minion from the Mining collection and place it on your island with storage and fuel.

Upgrade minions with super compactors, diamond spreading, and budget fuels like coal blocks. A full minion setup can generate millions of coins per day at higher tiers. Use minion calculators to plan slot unlock order.

Slayers and Combat Progression

Slayer bosses (Zombie, Spider, Wolf, Enderman, Blaze) are a core mid-game money and gear path. Start with Revenant Horror tier 2–3 once you have decent combat stats.

Craft Slayer armor and weapons from collection drops. Bring healing, mobility (AOTE or similar), and learn boss patterns before pushing higher tiers. Slayer XP unlocks powerful late-game items.

Your First Dungeon Run

Dungeons unlock at Combat level 15. Start with Catacombs Floor 1 and use the dungeon finder for a party. Bring Shadow Assassin or Adaptive armor if affordable.

Learn mob patterns and class roles — Healer and Mage are forgiving for beginners. Do not obsess over perfect gear on Floor 1–3; focus on mechanics and secrets. Run Dungeons for cata XP and valuable drops.

Bazaar and Item Flipping

The Bazaar is Hypixel Skyblock's player market for instant buy/sell. Use it for bulk materials, enchanted blocks, and farming outputs.

Bazaar flipping (buy low, sell high on spread) is a common mid-game strategy. Watch for patch notes — meta shifts can crash or spike item prices overnight. Never invest your entire purse in one flip.
